In the group of polyolefins, the homopolymeric Polyethylene-Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight stands out for its very low density, very good sliding properties and at the same time high toughness. The chemical resistance is very high. Due to the very low dielectric loss factor, high-frequency welding is not possible. However, all other appropriate welding procedures should work without problems. The continuous operating temperature for UHMWPE ranges between -238°F and approximately +194°F.
