Continuous CO2 savings in the factory

Environmental protection and sustainability are very important to us, so we are pleased that we were able to neutralize 5,400 tons of CO2 in 2020 through various measures. This corresponds to a CO2 uptake of approx. 411,000 trees. After the conversion to green electricity and green gas, we achieved the implementation packages of the Paris Agreement in 2020 and have been able to produce climate-neutrally since then.

ECO-GEHR PLA-HI SHEETS

New to our product range: High Impact-resistant sheets made of PLA

ECO-GEHR PLA-HI® sheets based on renewable raw materials consist of 90% PLA. They are produced – as all GEHR products – CO2 neutral according GHG Protocol Scope 1+2. The sheets stand out for their high impact strength and are therefore suitable for use in demanding applications.

Transition to eco-gas completed

We are making a further contribution to reducing CO2 (carbon dioxide) and, by switching to eco-gas at our Mannheim plant, we managed to implement CO2 neutral production in accordance with the GHG Protocol Scope 1 and Scope 2 guidelines in Germany as well as in the USA.

Climate protection is of great importance to us, which is why we are very pleased that thanks to energy optimisation we have been able to reduce our carbon emissions by approx.

NEW: GEHR POM-C® 300 mm

Production of 300 mm thick sheets

We are the first manufacturer to extrude GEHR POM-C® sheets with a thickness of 300 mm and a width of 610 mm and to include them in our product range as stock items.

NEW BRUSH PEN FROM STABILO

New product range STABILO Pen 68 uses GEHR PP® tubes with double edge strips

We supply our customer Schwan STABILO with PP hexagonal tubes in various colours for their new product line: a fibre-tip pen with a flexible brush tip.

Innovation stimulates the market. One of our contributions to innovation is to extrude the new SOLVAY PEEK-HT material, which may be used in particular in the chemical industry.

GEHR PPA^®

Product Pilot: Round rods made of high temperature resistant polyamide

We developed the product GEHR PPA^® in cooperation with BASF and have already extruded round rods with a diameter of 50 mm. We will present the product at the K 2019 trade fair.
